First look: World’s fastest vertical take-off chopper

First photos of the Sikorsky and Boeing ultra-fast, dual-rotor helicopter were shared online recently. The high-speed long range helicopter project is called the Sikorsky-Boeing SB>1 Defiant. The helicopter will come with two counter-rotating blades and a pusher propeller behind, to eliminate the 240 kmph speed limit that current helicopters have to administer. SB>1 Defiant will be an ultra-modern helicopter with features such as a fly-by-wire drivetrain, cabin capacity of up to 12 troops plus four in the cabin, it will also feature a composite fuselage. The SB>1 Defiant is expected to go on active duty by 2030 for the US Army.
