The business forum Turkmenistan-U.S., which was held recently in New York and was attended by Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, identified new ways of developing bilateral business cooperation.

The meeting once again demonstrated the impressive economic potential of Turkmenistan.

Today, Turkmenistan is taking measures to fundamentally modernize the economy, and new opportunities are opening up in many sectors, including technology. Turkmenistan is open for business in all areas.

Therefore, I want to encourage all companies that are present at the forum and are not yet engaged in business in Turkmenistan to join us, as Turkmenistan has a bright future, and it will play an increasingly important role on the world stage, Director of the Turkmenistan-U.S. Business Council Erik Stewart noted in his speech.

The head of Boeing corporation stressed that the company has been united with Turkmenistan by more than two decades of cooperation, and Turkmen airlines have become the first buyer of American aircraft in Central Asia.

After many years, this cooperation has only strengthened, and today the company is focused on expanding interaction, including in the space industry, which Boeing began to develop relatively recently.

John Deere, which is actively cooperating with Turkmenistan, also aims to expand partnership in the light of the initiatives of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, aimed at reforming the country's agro-industrial complex.

There is a great potential for cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United States in the fuel and energy sector, said a representative of the Oxbow Group.

Recently, the company began deliveries through the International Sea Port of Turkmenbashi, with excellent ultra-modern infrastructure, which Oxbow regards as key for transit and export deliveries of gas-chemical products from Turkmenistan to Western countries.

In January-July 2018, the trade turnover between the U.S. and Turkmenistan amounted to $ 18 million. During this period, U.S. exports totaled $ 11.7 million, while imports of products from the Central Asian country made only $ 6.3 million. In 2017, the total trade turnover reached $ 282.2 million.
