Tours and Travels Association of Andhra chairman O. Naresh on Sunday (April 13, 2025) urged the Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu to ensure revival of flights to Dubai, Colombo, Bangkok, Kuala-Lumpur from Visakhapatnam airport as they would benefit passengers of North Andhra region and Godavari districts.

He submitted a representation to the Minister in Srikakulam and sought direct flights for other international cities also as the occupancy ratio was good for all the flights when they were operated from Visakhapatnam.

He said that the direct flights were needed to Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Coimbatore and other cities and convenient time scheduled for the flights operated to Vijayawada from Visakhapatnam. Mr. Naresh said a dedicated cargo was flight needed to be operated to different parts of the globe since it was essential for pharmaceutical and other industries located in Pydibhimavaram of Srikakulam district and Parawada Pharma City of Anakapalli district.

“Withdrawal of several flights would have an impact on the industrial progress of the region too. Concessions for flights parking should also be considered so that more airlines would operate flights from Viskhapatnam. The Minister who hails form the region can take up the issue to benefit the air travellers of the region,” said Mr. Naresh.
