Where will the Aussie dollar go the furthest?
New Zealand and Indonesia are the best budget destinations for the Aussie dollar right now, according to new research from finance company MoneyMe
Travellers can expect better value for their money when exploring the natural wonders of Aotearoa, or unwinding on Indonesia's beaches.
The AUD relative to Indonesia's rupiah has seen a slight year-on-year increase of 0.68 per cent, and the highest year-to-date gain of 3.26 per cent, while the AUD relative to the NZD has increased by 0.89 per cent.
Japan and Thailand were once cheap for Aussies, but no longer.
The AUD has weakened against the previously cheap Japanese yen, dropping by 4.40 per cent year-on-year, the greatest decline against all currencies analysed.
Thailand has also become more expensive for Australians, with the Australian dollar dropping by 10.29 per cent year-on-year against the Thai baht.
For those who searching for alternatives, India and Vietnam may be good budget destinations.
