The public is being reminded that diving or jumping from the Pigeon Point jetty is strictly prohibited.

The warning comes from the management of the Pigeon Point Heritage Park, days after a Caribbean Airlines pilot–Christon Battersby– jumped off the jetty and sustained serious head and neck injuries.

While reports have indicated that Battersby has made significant progress in his recovery, the park’s management says the incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers associated with diving or jumping from the jetty.

It noted further that despite its picturesque appearance, the water depth and underwater conditions around the jetty can be unpredictable and hazardous.

“The rule is in place to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of everyone enjoying the park’s amenities. We urge all members of the public to respect and adhere to these safety guidelines,” the management added.
