Biman Looking To Wet Lease Two Narrow-Body Aircraft

Dhaka: Biman Bangladesh airlines has issued a request for proposals (RFP) to wet lease two narrow-body aircraft from May/June 2025.

According to the RFP, Biman expects to wet lease two narrow-body aircraft of unspecified type, each fitted with at least 160 seats in a single-class, all-economy configuration.

The tentative lease term would be six months for both aircraft and be effective from May 8, 2025 to November 7, 2025, for the first aircraft and from June 18, 2025 to December 17, 2025, for the second aircraft. The lease term may be extended for an additional six months upon fulfillment of certain terms and conditions.

Biman will operate flights to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur with the first aircraft, while the second aircraft will be deployed on routes to Sylhet, Chattogram, Kathmandu, Chennai, and Sharjah. However, both aircraft may also be deployed for flights to Delhi and Abu Dhabi, depending on operational requirements.

Biman expects to receive both aircraft from a single lessor, but the carrier would consider otherwise if such an opportunity isn't available. The RFP will close on April 6, 2025.
