Pernod Ricard and ARI open ‘must-visit’ Jameson TasteHouse at Dublin Airport

IRELAND. Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail (GTR) has joined forces with Aer Rianta International (ARI) to open a Jameson TasteHouse at Dublin Airport.

The innovative, experience-led store – a first for the Irish whiskey brand in travel retail – is located in The Loop, Terminal 2.

The Loop’s Jameson TasteHouse is open to visitors, COVID-19 restrictions permitting

Pernod Ricard GTR said the store is “set to become a must-visit destination”.

“Following decades of continued growth, the opening of the TasteHouse represents a milestone in the brand’s expansion in travel retail,” the company added.

The Jameson TasteHouse is stocked with a full line-up of the brand’s Irish whiskies

The store offers the full Jameson portfolio, including exclusive expressions. Showcased products include the recently-launched travel retail exclusive Jameson Triple Triple, as well as The Irish Whiskey Collection and Jameson Crested x Eight Degrees.

Travellers are encouraged to explore the wider whiskey portfolio from the Midleton Distillery, including craft and prestige brands such as Midleton Very Rare and Redbreast.

The TasteHouse features exterior wall displays of Jameson Original and the brand’s iconic angel wings. Inside, it boasts an original hand-blown, stained-glass artwork, created by a local Irish artist, James Earley.

“The Jameson TasteHouse illustrates our dedication to be at the forefront of innovation within the travel retail channel” –  Pernod Ricard GTR CEO Mohit Lal

Pernod Ricard GTR said the TasteHouse aims to combine evolving consumer expectations with a memorable and engaging shopping experience, in line with clean retailing practices. The store includes a ‘wave and learn’ digital element, enabling shoppers to know more about products using touchless technology.

A Jameson Black Barrel personalised label service is offered, along with short educational masterclasses highlighting Pernod Ricard GTR’s Irish whiskey portfolio. The classes include glass-in-hand experiences and cocktail-making sessions, which, Pernod Ricard GTR said, would be organised frequently once Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.

Pernod Ricard GTR CEO Mohit Lal said: “We are continually looking for ways to improve the experience of our consumers, and the Jameson TasteHouse illustrates our dedication to be at the forefront of innovation within the travel retail channel.

“Hosting the latest developments designed to excite, engage and adhere to post-pandemic demands, we are proud to have partnered with Aer Rianta International on this new concept store.”

“We are delighted to be chosen as the first airport partner to launch the Jameson TasteHouse. Jameson is a key driver of success for The Irish Whiskey Collection at The Loop, this will be a must visit, exciting destination for our customers” – ARI Chief Executive Ray Hernan

Irish Distillers CEO and Chairman Conor McQuaid commented: “This is an incredibly exciting time for Jameson in global travel retail. In 2019, we entered the illustrious list of the Top 10 brands sold in the channel, an achievement that can be credited to our portfolio innovations, including Black Barrel and Triple Triple, but above all, to soaring consumer interest and demand for Irish whiskey.

“We are proud to launch our TasteHouse at Dublin Airport, where travellers can be immersed in and enjoy one of the strongest brands on the spirit scene.”

ARI Chief Executive Ray Hernan added: “Like the team at Irish Distillers, we are passionate about innovation and offering travellers new, exclusive products and experiences that they can only find in ARI stores.
