President Donald Trump returned to Iowa on Wednesday to hold a rally at the Des Moines Airport.
This rally comes three weeks before the November election, and 12 days after Trump and dozens of White House aides and governmental staff tested positive for COVID-19.
Air Force One is expected to touch down in Des Moines shortly before 6 p.m. The president will stay at the airport to hold his rally there. The event is expected to begin at 6 p.m.
The visit comes as Trump tries to shore up support in Iowa — a state he won by nearly 10 points in 2016. Polls now show a virtual tie between Trump and Democratic nominee former Vice President Joe Biden.
The president will also visit other swing states such as Florida and Pennsylvania.
KCCI's Chris Gothner spoke with Trump's supporters before the rally.
"I have never in my life been in a position where I have money in my bank account and had someone who is actually standing up for real, live people — not just trying to please other people," said Marissa Bruch, of Council Bluffs. "So there is so many reasons, but I go to every other event. Any event that is in Iowa, I go to."
KCCI's Todd Magel and Laura Terrell caught up with Trump's critics on their perspective of his event in Iowa.
