A star gazer claims to have spotted an unidentified object flying over Wirral in the footage above.

Lisa Kearns said she was looking at the sky on December 23 just after midnight when her attention was caught by interesting flashing lights.

The 23-year-old said she usually looks through her telescope to observe the moon, but because of the clear skies during the early hours of Chrismas Eve she looked up from her home in Bromborough.

She said: "I've shown the video to a few people and they thought I should show someone it.

Ms Kearns said she saw a light that appeared to be flashing

"I've got a telescope that I always use to usually look at the moon, but it was just after 12 and I noticed something, but I just thought it was a star when I looked.

"I've got an app on my phone that shows what stars there are in the sky, and it's usually very good and accurate, but it was not coming up on there.

The object appeared to be flying and then disappearing for about eight minutes, it's claimed

"When I looked through the telescope what I saw appeared to be moving a bit. As I was focusing on it, it was looking like it flashing blue."

Ms Kearns said the light was flashing, appearing to disappear and then return.

She said this all lasted for "about eight minutes all together".

She added: "I thought this was a bit strange, I just didn't know what it was. I know some people say UFO and I suppose it is unidentified.

"Everyone has been quite shocked at it and said it was strange."
