Now, air travellers bound for Bangkok have another option before them. The low cost airline, NokScoot, has launched its four-times-a-week operations between Delhi and Bangkok on Wednesday.

This comes after India and Thailand exchanged an air services bilateral which allows airlines from both sides to operate an additional 6300 seats a week.

Giam Ming Toh, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, NokScoot said that if the firm were granted the rights to do so, they would proceed with daily operations of their flights.

He added that the airline will launch flights to another city in India next year but declined to get into specifics of which city the flight will operate to or when it will start.

Ming Toh also said that NokScoot had initiated discussions with another Indian carrier but declined to get into specifics of which Indian carrier the Thai airline is in talks with. The talks will focus on what will happen in case any disruptions in the flights operated by the Thai carrier.

More about NokScoot

NokScoot is a joint venture between Scoot, a 100 per cent owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines and Thailand’s Nok Air. The airline will use a Boeing 777-200 aircraft offering seating in premium economy and economy class.

Passengers flying with the airline will have the option of paying less if they decide to pick a ‘seat only option’. This would permit them to only carrying a hand bag on their travel. Those opting for a seat with checked in bags and meals on board will pay more than those opting for a hand bag only option.

The flight will operate from Delhi on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

This enhanced entitlement has allowed NokScoot to operate four flights a week to Delhi.
