A Greenville dental practice has shared the passing of the owner believed to have been killed in a plane crash in Greenville.

Over the weekend, social media has been flooded with an outpour of love and memories of Dr. Mark Bowman and Robin Bowman, the couple believed to have died in the plane crash.

Dr. Mark Bowman’s practice, Bowman, Padgett and Associates, talked about the passing Sunday in a Facebook post.

“With devastated and broken hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Dr. Bowman and his beautiful wife, Robin in a tragic plane crash. Dr. Bowman blessed our practice with over 30 years of dentistry and nurtured many relationships over those years. His work was admirable, and he was so much more than a dentist to all that were blessed to know him,” the post said.

The Facebook post continues to discuss how Dr. Bowman was a great friend, a compassionate boss, and a dear partner. “Dr. Bowman exemplified what it meant to live a life full of purpose and integrity. He was an inspiration to many that came after him in the dental field and his passion radiated through the lives of all around him. It was a true privilege to be a witness to the legacy he has left behind. Dr. Bowman will forever be in our hearts as we strive to make him proud in all that we do.”

The Friday morning plane crash was in the area of N. Memorial Dr. and Belvoir Rd. Flight records show a Beechcraft Bonanza left the Pitt Greenville Airport just after 7:45 a.m., moments before the crash was reported.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that two people were on board the plane when it crashed.

Many people took to social media to say the two people on board were Mark and Robin Bowman. Dr. Angie Rhodes with Family and Cosmetic Dentistry reflected on the company’s Facebook page Saturday.

“Dr Mark Bowman and his wife, Robin, tragically lost their lives in a plane crash yesterday as they left for a mission trip to the Dominican Republic,” Dr. Rhodes said. “On a personal note, Dr. Bowman is a dentist I respected greatly and he was always nothing but kind to me. He began his practice in Aurora and I think he was proud of me when I too started a practice on the southside of the river...”

WITN went by Bowman, Padgett and Associates, and flowers are beginning to populate outside the front door.

“The world lost 2 beautiful souls due to a tragic plane crash. Dr. Mark Bowman and his beautiful bride Robin. He was a very well respected dentist in the Greenville area who I had the absolute pleasure of knowing personally. He was the kind of guy who would shake your hand and explain everything he looked at, and also the kind of guy you could just chew the fat with while hanging around the hangar,” Stephen Hill said in a Facebook post.

Highway Patrol says the plane crashed in the area of Consolidated Pipe on N. Greene St. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the deadly crash.

According to Highway Patrol, work is still being done to positively confirm the identities of those killed in the crash

“What are we gonna do without you,” Cristy Leggett wrote in a Facebook post. “Please take a minute to say a big prayer, for Dr. Bowman and Robin’s family and friends and for our team who has endured alot of heartbreak and loss the last few weeks. This really hurts.”

Family and friends are now in a time of mourning as they remember their dear friends who they say were gone too soon.

“He built a legacy that will certainly leave its mark on the dental community in Greenville and beyond. Godspeed Doc,” Dr. Rhodes said.

“Dr. Bowman, you and your wife will be truly missed in the community, and in our hearts. Godspeed pilot,” Hill said.
