Angkasa Pura I Announces Acting President Director
Jakarta. Angkasa Pura I, a state-owned operator of most airports in central and eastern Indonesia, announced on Monday (20/11) that Wendo Asrul Rose will take up the position of acting president director, following the sudden passing of its top executive last Saturday.
Wendo will keep his current responsibilities as the company's operational director while filling the top position, according to Angkasa Pura I (AP I) corporate secretary Israwadi.
"The temporary appointment of president director will hold until the stakeholders name a definitive replacement, which is mentioned in the company's articles of association," Israwadi said.
The appointment came after Danang S. Baskoro, former AP I president director who took up the position in October 2016, fell ill during an exercise and passed away on Saturday.
Danang was a prominent figure among the country's state-owned enterprises. Prior to his tenure as AP I president director, he was the president director of state-owned seaport operator ASDP Indonesia Ferry, a commissioner at the Jakarta International Container Terminal and Merpati Nusantara Airlines.
"The late Danang S. Baskoro has started the foundation for the development of nine airports," Israwadi said. "We will be working hard to continue the airports' development that has been started by Danang S. Baskoro and to finish it on time."
AP I is currently building several international airports, including one in Kulonprogo, Yogyakarta, that will start operations in early 2019. The Ahmad Yani International Airport in Semarang, Central Java, is also slated to begin operations next year.
