Omelyan reports on possible halt of Dniproavia work in Sept

Dniproavia airline (Dnipropetrovsk) could stop operation in September this year, Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan has said on the air of 112.ua, with reference to an airline employee.

"I departed from Boryspil to Bucharest for Ukrainian-Romanian negotiations and a company employee approached me and asked what would happen to Dniproavia. He then reported that the company is to actually stop activities in September. We have experienced this with AeroSvit, now we are experiencing this with Dniproavia, when instead of paying debts to the state, the assets are transferred to Windrose and the state gets nothing," the minister said.

Dniproavia carries out regular and charter flights to the countries of Europe, Middle East, and the CIS. It is one of the largest Ukrainian air carriers.

The State Property Fund in late August 2009 sold 94.572% of the company shares to Galtera LLC. As a result, the airline is owned by Privat Financial and Industrial Group, co-owned by businessman Ihor Kolomoisky, through Galtera.
